gymwiddy - Meg's March

from Winter Chip X by Battle of the Bits

/

about

Meg the squirrel girl has grown weary from the routine ways of her wooded forest home. Against the best wishes of her mother, Meg slips out one morning to join her friends down by the riverside to discuss these strange new attractions recently hovering in from the distant Acadian mountains.

FDS+MMC5, Vocaloid(V2's Len and Ren, and V3's Miku), some light strings and piano samples, and a few drums sounds - all mixed in Ableton Live

It seems Vocaloid 2 voices aren't so good at intelligible Engrish(or maybe gyms just needs more practice :O ~ Here are some words to read along with!

meg has a problem,
the woods are just too small for her
what lies beyond them?
she wants to find out,
but look at the wonderful procession
poking through the edge of the glen

taking the chance now
she's sneaking around the great golden owl parade
where the beat becomes part of the brighter days
and how she's knocking about
in tempo as tho she may
fly away
to a place where the bluebirds call
everyday
soon, all the ruckus has lead her so far astray

and now meg has a problem,
she's carried off to skies above
what lies beyond them?
she's bound to find out
a truth that will bury these portraits of love
up in the stratosphere

"o! it's so beautiful up here
above the clouds, i feel my heart beating!
i can see those spectacles out there,
from up above they carry no meaning!"

taking her hand now, he tells her about
the permanence of her stay
and the beat becomes taut as the morning fades,
but will you look how she's bargaining now?
the home that she pushed away,
t'was a place,
t'was a haven where bluebirds called
everyday
grand marshal raven looks up at her
and says

"come close, meg of the forest
a stowaway, now
please understand, my dear
that this is your home now
your tracks are forever bound
to us in the southern helm
of lands which aren't really so
far away"

"i wanna go back home,
return to my mama!
how i'll miss her warm walberry pie out on the counter!
yesterday i had it all, simply
watching days go by..."

meg falls down
out there on the platform, sobbing
guidon owls
all gathered around
calling,

"take this poor girl back where she belongs!"

meg of the forest
open your eyes
open the door
