"It's the year 2080.

It seems most people are living the suddenly overly polluted Earth, as suspicious as it sounds. Maybe the government set things up for humanity to leave Earth, but that is B-Sides the point.

Much of us now live in space. It's all well-maintained and tested, so I think it's rather safe overall. People have been raising families for years here on Base 07 safely for years. I heard Base 06 is nicer, but I bet it's just full of snobby rich prudes. I wouldn't be surprised after visiting Base 02, hah.

Yet, I digress. Web 4.0 has finally arrived. It's embedded everywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to say the internet IS humanity by now. My tethered brain chip is a good example of just how far we've come. Call me a cynic, but I think the government is taking this a slight bit too far. It's just my opinion.

The Web hasn't changed one bit on the outside. It's still full of horrendous memes, over-extensions of social networking, staple sites like YouTube...Reddit...and even 4chan. The inner workings are much more complex and integrated with each other, though.

I'm getting off topic. Google is "reaching out" to smaller sites and allowing them to get off the ground by making space bases for the members of the site to teleport to and meet up at. I didn't think people really still cared about physical meetings, but I guess that'll fade away too within the next few decades.

As for me, I'm Tim. Since the space bases are designed usually by the designers of the respective site, they need someone to check the space bases to make sure they're usable. That someone is me. After all, they're basically physical versions of the sites. It's a big deal.

Today I'm checking...some space base for a site called battleofthebits.org! All I've been told is that it's a musical site. I'm a big fan of music, so I'm excited to see what this place is all about. It's rather small, but sometimes small sites like this contain a lot of bright individuals.

I just hope it's easily accessible."
